Remain Silent, also known as Bào Chữa Vô Tội in Vietnamese, is a psychological crime thriller directed by Ke Zhou. The film features a relatively unfamiliar cast, which has attracted the attention of many Chinese film enthusiasts. In addition to Châu Tấn, the movie also stars notable actors such as Ngô Trấn Vũ, Tổ Phong, Lý Na, and Viên Lập.
Unfortunately, due to an unengaging screenplay and a lack of impact from the main cast, the film received poor reviews and performed disappointingly at the box office.
The story revolves around the journey of lawyer Đoan Mộc Lan as she investigates a murder case in Hong Kong. After learning that the victim is Vạn Văn Phương and the prime suspect is a young man, she begins her investigation. However, everything becomes stagnant until she reunites with her former lover, Thác Mã Tư, who is also the prosecutor in this case. During the process of getting to know each other again, she senses some peculiar signs and decides to visit the victim's house in search of the truth.
In conclusion, Remain Silent, despite its promising premise and talented cast, failed to deliver a compelling story and left little impact on the audience.
