Vệ Tử Phu, also known as The Virtuous Queen of Han (2014), is a historical drama that tells the story of the life of Empress Dowager Vệ Tử Phu of the Han Dynasty. The mainland Chinese actress, Vương Lạc Đan, portrays Vệ Tử Phu, the youngest daughter of a concubine who works in the palace of Princess Bình Dương (Châu Lệ Kỳ), the older sister of Emperor Hán Vũ Đế - Lưu Triệt (Lâm Phong). In order to maintain good relations, Princess Bình Dương gives Vệ Tử Phu as a gift to Lưu Triệt, who immediately falls in love with her beauty.
Prior to this, Lưu Triệt was forced to marry Empress Trần A Kiều (Trịnh Miêu Chi) due to a political alliance, resulting in a tense relationship between the two. Faced with Trần A Kiều's extreme hatred, Lưu Triệt marries Tử Phu and appoints her as his concubine. Trần A Kiều resorts to using black magic to curse Vệ Tử Phu, but her plot is quickly discovered.
